Hors d’oeuvres, a cold refreshment, and the warm summer light of late afternoon are the perfect companions to take in some of the area’s most spectacular private gardens through our Cocktails in Great Gardens series. It’s a rare opportunity to roam these private spaces with the gardeners themselves that you will not want to miss. Tickets are limited and reservations are required. The Garden of Maria Nation and Roberto Flores:

The gardens at Good Dogs Farm reflect a passion for the outdoors and a philosophy that most things are better when they are shared with friends, when simple pleasures are part of athe plan, and when things aren’t taken too seriously. Here, the dogs romp and friends linger. Garden paths lead to numerous garden rooms, “secret” sitting areas, an outdoor shower and an outdoor sleeping room. An antique-marble & brick wood-burning bake oven is surrounded by a hedge that defines a pea-stone cooking courtyard. BBG members might recognize tower built by Grey Davis and Chase Booth that was one of the Garden’s Tree House exhibits from a few year ago. A handmade, rough-cedar “country Chippendale” fence surrounds our large vegetable/cutting garden where a very crowded bat house towers above. Further out, horses and mini-donkeys graze next to the Housatonic river. Our gardens have been featured in Cottage Living, Berkshire Living, The Litchfield Country Times, Oprah’s “O at Home”, Counrty Living, Gardenista Daily and various books including Great Gardens of the Berkshires and Jack Staub’s Private Edens. Maria and Roberto look forward to seeing you. *This event is rain or shine.
