Berkshire Botanical Garden
Responsible Backyard Beekeeping Series
The Responsible Backyard Beekeeping Series is a monthly workshop series with a focus to teach effective and responsible beekeeping techniques needed to create healthy bee colonies and healthy habitats to honeybees and other pollinators. Participants will learn from experts from around the region on how to sustainably manage beehives, manage pests and diseases responsibly, and create beneficial habitats for honeybees and native pollinators alike. Topics will include seasonal hive management, raising and sourcing bees locally, and growing native plants. Following this class, participants are welcome to stay to meet and discuss beekeeping with others. Light refreshments will be provided.
A beekeeping related workshop will be held on the last Saturday of each month at 10am beginning in January 2018. Additional classes which might be of interest to beekeepers and bee enthusiasts are also listed below.
